What is Pilates?

Pilates is a method of exercise that uses controlled movements either on the mat or with equipment to tone and strengthen the body. This form of physical therapy improves your mental and physical well being, increases flexibility and strengthens muscles with exercises that specifically teach awareness of breath, body and alignment of the spine.

 

 

Individual Tailored Programs

At Studio Australia your program begins with an initial one-on-one, hour and a half Introductory Session with a senior instructor. You will be given a postural assessment and discuss with the instructor your history, injuries and what you would like to achieve from practicing Pilates. You will also be introduced to the equipment and instructed in the technique of breathing. The result of this session is the development of an individual program to suit your body and needs. After this you will attend one or more sessions a week and receive the attention and time required to fulfill your program.  Most clients will notice the changes to their body in 3 - 5 sessions!
